Our Spring 2018 Season

Poets House, the nation’s poetry library, celebrates three decades as a home for poetry, offering programs featuring some of the world’s premier poets—Pulitzer Prize winners, Poet Laureates, emerging talents, and leading voices from diverse cultures around the globe.

Congratulations to 2015 Poets House Emerging Poet Fellow Yanyi, whose manuscript The Year of Blue Water was selected as the winner of the 2018 Yale Series of Younger Poets competition by Carl Phillips!

Poets House Emerging Poets Published by Los Angeles Review of Books

Writing by six graduates of Poets House’s Emerging Poets Fellowship has been published on the Los Angeles Review of Books (LARB) website. As part of the Poetry Coalition’s 2018 initiative, “Where My Dreaming and My Loving Live: Poetry & the Body,” Poets House invited each poet to select five items from our 70,000-volume library that address the theme of the body and to write a short prose response to each of these items, as well as a poem. Read “To Reimagine Healing” by Ricardo Hernandez, “The Body as Idol, Nation, and Revolution” by Adeeba Talukder, “Dreaming and Loving Through Poetry and the Body” by Cynthia Manick,” “Private Time Machine” by Chia-Lun Chang, "Poetry & The Body" by Alex Cuff, and “Unlonely-ing the Inner Self” by Rico Frederick.

A home for poets, a place for poets, Poets House library for poetry “…Poets House, that hybrid of library, study hall and exhibition space, floating like a utopian mirage over the Hudson River in Lower Manhattan…”—Holland Cotter, The New York Times
