Finishing Line Press presents Ron Whitehead in celebration of the release of his new book, blistered asphalt on dixie highway: Kentucky Basketball is Poetry in Motion. Hosted by Mets Poet Frank Messina. Special guests include legendary composer David Amram, female professional baseball umpire Perry Lee Barber, and poets Quincy Troupe (Miles Davis biographer and son of Negro Leagues baseball catcher Quincy Thomas Trouppe), New York poet and artist Steve Dalachinsky, and Hoboken Historical Museum poet-in-residence Danny Shot. Ron Whitehead book signing and refreshments to follow.
