Poets House at the 13th NYC Poetry Festival

With readings by Kiran Bath, Marisa Crawford, and Emily Lee Luan

Debut poet Kiran Bath (INSTRUCTIONS FOR BANNO) joins Marisa Crawford (editor of The Weird Sister Collection) and Emily Lee Luan (回 / Return), in a reading on scenic Governors Island. Join us in welcoming three terrific poets to the community that is NYC Poetry Festival! 

Readings are Saturday, July 13, 1pm on the Brinkley Stage, Nolan Park, Governors Island, New York, NY 10004


About the Presenters:

Kiran Bath is a writer based in New York. She has received fellowships and support from Poets House, the Vermont Studio Center and Brooklyn Poets. Kiran is a Kundiman fellow and a Tin House alumni. Her writing appears in wildness, The Adroit Journal, The Brooklyn Rail and other journals. Her debut collection of poems, INSTRUCTIONS FOR BANNO, is forthcoming with Kelsey Street Press. 

Emily Lee Luan is the author of 回 / Return (April 2023), winner of a 2021 Nightboat Poetry Prize, and I Watch the Boughs. A recipient of a Pushcart Prize, her work has appeared in The Best American Poetry, American Poetry Review, LitHub, and elsewhere. She holds an MFA from Rutgers University–Newark and is a 2023–24 Visiting Assistant Professor in the Syracuse University MFA program. 

Marisa Crawford is the author of the poetry collections Diary, Reversible, and The Haunted House. She is the editor of The Weird Sister Collection and co-editor of We Are The Baby-Sitters Club: Essays & Artwork from Grown-Up Readers. Marisa’s writing about feminism, art and pop culture has appeared in The Nation, Harper’s BazaarMs., The Rumpus, and elsewhere. She lives in Brooklyn, NY.
