A Celebration of Life
A reading class on poems about life
and what it means to live.
In this workshop, we will develop a deeper appreciation for poetry and celebrate our own lives. We’ll build community using poems, with discussions centered around: character, rhythm, and technique. Join us!
This session will include works by contemporary poets including (but not limited to): Tina Chang, Lucille Clifton, Natalie Diaz, Yusef Komunyakaa, Mary Oliver, Nicole Sealey, Maggie Smith, Ocean Vuong and Derek Walcott.
Saturday | Oct 28 | 12-3pm ET | $105 ($90 for Members)

About the educator:
Josephine Ishmon is a writer and educator. She has an MFA in Creative Writing from the New School and has lead workshops in New York City Public Schools and NYS Women’s Correctional Facilities. Her writing has been published in the Boston Review and has garnered fellowships from the Norman Mailer Writer’s Colony as well as the Mellon Foundation.
While our physical space is closed for construction, workshops will be held over Zoom. While you can use Zoom from your phone or browser, we recommend downloading the desktop client.
