Campbell Corner Presents: A Reading by the Co-Winners of the 2012 Campbell Corner Poetry Contest Ari Banias & David Roderick

Ari Banias grew up in Los Angeles, El Paso, and the suburbs of Chicago. He holds a BA from Sarah Lawrence College and an MFA in Creative Writing from Hunter College. His work has appeared or is forthcoming in Gulf Coast, Subtropics, DIAGRAM, Aufgabe, The Cincinnati Review, FIELD, and elsewhere. The recipient of awards and fellowships from the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, the Cultural Center of Cape Cod, the New York Foundation for the Arts, Headlands Center for the Arts, and the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, he is the 2012-13 Halls Poetry Fellow at the Wisconsin Institute for Creative Writing at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His chapbook, What’s Personal is Being Here With All of You (Portable Press at Yo-Yo Labs), came out in 2012.

David Roderick earned degrees from Colby College and the University of Massachusetts, and he was also a Wallace Stegner Fellow at Stanford University. His first book, Blue Colonial, won the APR/Honickman Prize. New poems have been published in The American Poetry Review, The Georgia Review, Memorious, Meridian, New England Review, Orion, Poetry, and Quarterly West. Other awards include the James Boatwright III Poetry Prize from Shenandoah and the Amy Lowell Traveling Scholarship. He currently teaches poetry and creative writing in the MFA Writing Program at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
