The Nude Poem
In this three-hour generative workshop, we’ll explore natural bodies in poetry, drawing, painting, and sculpture. Some artists see the human form as itself a work of art and affirm its beauty while other artists create pieces that show uneasy and critical depictions of the body. This workshop will examine both and we’ll reflect on the human body in the context of our lives, contemporary culture, art, and history. To ground our work and hone our skills, we’ll read work by Ama Codjoe, Hieu Minh Nguyen, Sharon Olds, and others.
Sunday | May 21 | 2-5pm Eastern | $120 ($96 for Members)
All are welcome, space is limited. A limited number of need-based scholarships are available. Please email support@poetshouse.org with any questions.
