Latin American Confluences: Poetry & Architecture at the Mid-Century

Form & Function: The Intersection of Poetry & Architecture

Sep 27, 2008 | 11:30 am

Far from merely reflecting the zeitgeist, poetry and architecture often change it. The subject of this exchange between poets, scholars and architects A.S. Bessa, Carlos Brillembourg, Rubén Gallo and Mónica de la Torre ranges from concrete poetry and idealized civic designs in midcentury South America to the politics of individual expression.

Part of Form & Function: The Intersection of Poetry & Architecture, a symposium with practitioners from both disciplines in conversation, deepening our reading of literary and built landscapes.

Sponsored By Poets House. Co-sponsored by the AIA NY Center for Architecture
