Literary Partners Program: Book Launch for Effie Pasagiannis’ Anagnorisis

Jan 14, 2020 | 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Effie Pasagiannis is a first-generation Greek-American lawyer, author, and curator based in NYC. Effie’s poetry has been featured in numerous literary journals such as The Write Launch, Raw Art Review, Pen + Brush’s In Print, and Stanford University’s Mantis Journal (“Poetry & Protest,” April 2019 print issue).

Anagnorisis (Greek: Recognition) is her first collection of poems, published as a chapbook by Dancing Girl Press. The work focuses on universal themes of loss, alienation, struggle, and transcendence.

Currently, Effie is working on a villanelle chapbook and a collection of short stories, one of which—”Fennec Fox on the Promontory”—will be adapted into a feature-length film to be produced by Nomadis Images and directed by Academy Member Raja Amari. As a curator, Effie brings together writers and artists to collaborate and showcase their work in soul-nourishing spaces. She is an avid proponent of personal transformation and an advocate for educational, criminal justice, immigration, and environmental reform.
