Literary Partners Program: Poets Read for the Bahamas: A Benefit for Hurricane Relief

Oct 12, 2019 | 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

In the aftermath of Hurricane Dorian—one of the strongest hurricanes ever to make landfall in the Western Hemisphere—as much as 70-90% of physical infrastructure on Grand Bahama and the Abaco Islands requires replacement or significant repair. Families who have lost everything are in need of food, clothing, and countless other items. Join us for an evening of poetry and solidarity as we raise funds for hurricane relief in the Bahamas, featuring readings by Terrance Hayes, Cornelius Eady, Ricardo Maldonado, r. erica doyle, R. A. Villanueva, Desiree C. Bailey, and more. Refreshments will be served.

We ask that attendees demonstrate their generosity by making a $25 minimum donation, either in cash at the door, or via the GoFundMe managed by the HeadKnowles Foundation.

Admission $25 contribution to hurricane relief fund Sponsored By Co-sponsored by NYU Creative Writing MFA and Poets House; organized by KT Herr and Bernard Ferguson
