Red Hen Press presents a day of readings by:
Henri Cole was born in Fukuoka, Japan, in 1956 and raised in Virginia. He has published eight collections of poetry, including Middle Earth (FSG, 2004) which was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in Poetry. He has received many awards for his work, including the Kingsley Tufts Award, the Rome Prize, the Berlin Prize, a Guggenheim Fellowship, and the Lenore Marshall Award. His most recent collection is Touch (Farrar, Straus & Giroux, 2011). He teaches at Ohio State University, is poetry editor of The New Republic, and lives in Boston.
Tess Taylor has received writing fellowships from Amherst College, the American Antiquarian Society, the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation, the International Center for Jefferson Studies, the Headlands Center for the Arts, and the MacDowell Colony. Her chapbook, The Misremembered World, was selected by Eavan Boland and published by the Poetry Society of America, and her poetry and nonfiction have appeared in The Atlantic, Boston Review, Harvard Review, Literary Imagination, The Times Literary Supplement, and The New Yorker. Her essay, “The Waste Land App,” published in The Threepenny Review, won a 2013 Pushcart Prize. She currently reviews poetry for NPR’s All Things Considered and teaches writing at the University of California, Berkeley. She lives in El Cerrito, California. Her book of poems, The Forage House, is published by Red Hen Press.
Rex Wilder’s poems have appeared in publications such as Poetry, The New Republic, The Yale Review, The Times Literary Supplement, two Poetry Daily anthologies, and The Book of Eros: Arts and Letters from Yellow Silk. He is the author of Waking Bodies, which, in the words of Billy Collins, takes “the tired English of everyday use” and brings it “back to us refreshed and full of its original surprise.” Wilder is currently editing There & Back: A Boomerang Anthology. A former regional director of the Poetry Society of America in Los Angeles, he helped establish Hollywood’s popular “Act of the Poet” reading series. He lives in Brentwood, California.
