On the Edge with Edwin Torres
Apr 8, 2014 | 7:00 pm
Event Navigation

A self-proclaimed “lingualisualist” rooted in the languages of sight and sound, Edwin Torres leads an exploration of the tools poets use to extend past the seeming edges of language and to articulate the rich “between” spaces – between sound and definition, body and nation – that drive our poetry in hidden, powerful ways.
Edwin Torres is a poet, performer, and educator. His poetry collections include Ameriscopia (2014), Yes Thing, No Thing (2010), In the Function of External Circumstances (2010), and The PoPedology of an Ambient Language (2008). His performances have been recorded on the CDs Oceano Rise, Novo, and Holy Kid. He is the recipient of fellowships from The New York Foundation for the Arts, The Foundation for Contemporary Performance Art, and The Poetry Fund, among others. He lives in New York City.
Presented as part of the Emerging Poets Fellowship public lecture series, generously funded by the Jerome Foundation.
