A panel discussion moderated by Nick Carbo and featuring M Evelina Galang, Eric Gamalinda, Eugene Gloria, Jessica Hagedorn, and Eileen Tabios. What does it mean to write in a borrowed tongue? This panel discussion examines each participant’s individual development in relation to the literary/historical contexts of Filipino identity.

This program coincides with the publication of three major anthologies: Returning a Borrowed Tongue: An Anthology of Filipino-American Poetry; Flippin’: Filipinos on America; and Brown River, White Ocean: An Anthology of Twentieth Century Philippine Literature in English.
