Event Navigation

Join us for a weekend immersed in the rich world of poetry!
In conjunction with the celebration of Poets House’s 25th Anniversary, we are hosting a Poetry in The Branches National Institute Reunion, inviting past attendees to the National Institute to return to share their experiences and refresh their skills, inspiring them to move forward.
Covering programming for teens and adults, creating programs on a shoestring budget, publicity, evaluation, and marketing, you will leave a practical poetry plan for your library and lots of nuts-and-bolts information to help make that plan a reality.
Guest of Honor Philip Levine, presenter at the first Poetry in The Branches program in 1995 and current US Poet Laureate, will honor attendees with a special reading of his work.
The Poetry In The Branches National Institute will cover:
- Explore our 50,000-volume collection;
- Discover resources for developing your library’s poetry collection;
- Learn how to reach out to and empower your patrons through poetry;
- Hear from and connect personally with our guest poets.
Registration fee for the 2012 Poetry In The Branches National Institute Reunion is $440, with a 40% discount for returning registrants ($264). More information about the Poetry In The Branches National Institute reunion will be appearing here and arriving in your mail and inboxes soon. If you have questions in the meantime, please contact Reggie Harris at reggie@poetshouse.org; 212-431-7920 x2842.
