Charles Waters reads Josh's "Rice and Beans"

This event has been POSTPONED, with new date to be announced

Children’s poet, actor, and educator Charles Waters reads “Rice and Beans” by Josh, 4th Grade, P.S. 1 (2016), featured on the Poetry Path in Battery Park City.

Josh, 4th Grade, P.S. 1 (2016) is one of many brilliant local students from PS 276, PS 89, and PS1 that came to Poets House as part of a neighborhood arts-education initiative developed by Poets House, with the support of Goldman Sachs, to serve Lower Manhattan school children and build community through the art of poetry.

Charles Waters is a children’s poet, actor, and co-author of Dictionary For A Better World: Poems, Quotes, and Anecdotes from A to Z (Lerner) and the Charlotte Huck Honor Book, Can I Touch Your Hair? Poems of Race, Mistakes, and Friendship (Lerner). His poems have appeared in various anthologies including One Minute Till Bedtime and The National Geographic Book of Animal Poetry. Charles performs his one-person show as well as conducts poetry performance and writing workshops for elementary and middle school audiences.

This event is part of an on-going series featuring poets reading poems that are excerpted on the poetry path. Posted on IGTV, YouTube, and our website.
