re/vision: Generating Drafts, Working with Notes, and Moving toward Public Poems
The practice of a poet can be constrained by the mundane dynamics of life outside of the space of the lyric poem and its mysterious originating impulses. After several years of coping with “unprecedented times,” this generative and revision-inclined workshop will offer concrete approaches to replenishing the creative process through close-reading, presenting tried-and-true writing exercises, and putting revision at easier reach. With the idea that poetic complexities arise from originating impulses as well as associative techniques, participants in this workshop will come together in a virtual space that affirms, honors, and empowers constructive poetic practice.
Sunday | July 9 | 12-3pm ET | $120 ($96 for Members)
All are welcome, space is limited. A limited number of need-based scholarships are available. Please email support@poetshouse.org with any questions.
