Ellen Hagan (Hemisphere, Northwestern University Press/TriQuarterly), Parneshia Jones (Vessel, Milkweed Editions), Anne Marie Macari (Red Deer, Persea Books), and Jean Valentine (Shirt in Heaven, Copper Canyon Press)
Ellen Hagan is a poet, essayist, and performer. Her most recent book of poetry is Hemisphere (2015). She is a member of the poetry faculty at West Virginia Wesleyan University and teachers in a number of other venues, including the Alice Hoffman Young Writers Retreat at Adelphi University and the Kentucky Governor’s School for the Arts. She lives in New York City.
Parneshia Jones works as the Poetry Editor for Northwestern University Press and serves on the boards of Cave Canem, GlobalWrites, and the Guild Complex. She has been recipient of a Gwendolyn Brooks Poetry Award, a Margaret Walker Short Story Award, and an Aquarius Press Legacy Award. Vessel (2015) is her debut book of poetry. She lives in Illinois.
Anne Marie Macari is the author of four books of poetry, most recently Red Deer (2015). Her writing has been widely published, and was awarded the James Dickey Prize for Poetry from 5 Points magazine. She is a founder of and faculty member at the Drew MFA Program for Poetry & Poetry in Translation, and she lives in New Jersey.
Jean Valentine is the author of sixteen volumes of poetry, most recently Friend (2015), a chapbook, and the forthcoming collection Shirt in Heaven (2015). Her writing has been recognized by the Academy of American Poets, the Guggenheim Foundation, and the National Endowment for the Arts, and she has been the recipient of a National Book Award.
