Summer Poetry Workshop for High School Students with Dave Johnson

For a second year, we are offering a week-long workshop for writers in high school to create and explore poetry in one of the largest poetry libraries in the country. Led by Dave Johnson, young writers will delve into the art and craft of poetry in a fun, creative and inspiring environment. The workshop ends with a public reading at Poets House.
Dave Johnson is a celebrated teacher and writer. He has taught at Yale University, The New School, and Cooper Union, as well as at public libraries and Poets House. He is the author of the poetry book Movin’.
Workshop participants will be determined through an application process and by an external judge. All interested high school students are encouraged to apply.
Summer Poetry Workshop Application Guidelines
In a single attachment, email three poems accompanied by completed application form (download MS Word document here) to mike@poetshouse.org. No names or addresses should appear on the poems themselves.
