This workshop will focus on contemporary queer and trans poetry, exploring work by Raquel Salas Rivera, Cyrée Jarelle Johnson, Never Angeline Nørth, t’ai freedom ford, and others working at the intersections of genre, embodiment, desire, and language. Participants will be asked to excavate their own embodied experiences with gender and sexuality and to develop writing that articulates these interstitial spaces, subjectivities, and thirsts through play with our collective queer poetics.
Jesse Rice-Evans (she/her/hers) is a white neuroqueer femme and Southern poet based in NYC—unceded Lenape territory—and the author of The Uninhabitable. She studies anti-ableist pedagogy and digital culture at the CUNY Graduate Center.
