About the poets:

Bill Carty lives in Seattle and is the author of We Sailed on the Lake (Bunny Presse/Fonograf Editions, 2023) and Huge Cloudy (Octopus Books, 2019), which was longlisted for The Believer Book Award. He is a Senior Editor at Poetry Northwest and teaches at Edmonds College and Hugo House.

Paul Hlava Ceballos is the author of banana [ ], winner of the AWP Donald Hall Prize for Poetry and the Poetry Society of America’s Norma Farber First Book Award, and a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award and the WA State Book Award. His collaborative chapbook, Banana [ ] / we pilot the blood, shares pages with Quenton Baker and Christina Sharpe. He has fellowships from CantoMundo, Artist Trust, and Poets House. He currently lives in Seattle with his family, where he practices echocardiography.

Cathy Linh Che is a Vietnamese American writer and multidisciplinary artist. She is the author of Split (Alice James Books) and co-author, with Kyle Lucia Wu, of the children’s book An Asian American A to Z: a Children’s Guide to Our History (Haymarket Books). She is working on a poetry manuscript, a creative nonfiction manuscript, a video installation, and a short documentary on her parents’ experiences as refugees who played extras on Apocalypse Now. The video installation is an Open Call commission with The Shed NY and will be showing from October 2023 – January 2024. She works as Executive Director at Kundiman, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to nurturing writers and readers of Asian American literature.

Anastacia-Renee (She/They) is an award-winning multi-genre writer, educator, interdisciplinary artist, and speaker whose work has been published widely. Renee is the author of Sidenotes from the Archivist; (v.)Forget It; and Here in the (Middle) of Nowhere (forthcoming, HarperCollins Amistad, 2024). Anastacia-Renee was former Seattle Civic Poet (2017-2019), Hugo House Poet-in-Residence (2015-2017), Arc Artist Fellow (2020) and Jack Straw Curator (2020). Renee has received fellowships and residencies from Cave Canem, Hedgebrook, VONA, Ragdale, Mineral School, and The New Orleans Writers Residency.
