“Walking Together, Talking Together” with MC Hyland

Prismatic Park Writing Workshops

Jul 5, 2017 | 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

“O friend, we had not seen thee at this time,
And yet a power is on me and a strong
Confusion, and I seem to plant thee there.
Far art thou wandered now in search of health,
And milder breezes—melancholy lot—
But thou art with us, with us in the past,
The present, with us in the times to come.”

—Wordsworth, The Prelude

Writing can be a lonely and solitary process—but it doesn’t have to be that way! In this workshop, we’ll practice writing with and for specific interlocutors, through a series of short walking-and-talking exercises paired with written continuations of our walks. In the process, we’ll ask: how does a conversation change when it shifts from speech to writing? What does pairing these two modes shift in our writing practices?

The event is free and open to the public, however, advanced registration is strongly suggested. Please sign up here: http://bit.ly/WalkingTogetherTalkingTogether
