Poetry of Witness and Resistance: Exploring the Power of the Protest Poem

Poets have always played an important role in synthesizing and distilling the pressing issues of their time in order to reveal truths, raise consciousness, and inspire people to action. In this remote course, we’ll look at the tradition of the protest poem and learn the key components of the protest poetry. Students will also learn the essential elements of poetry and in-class writing.

Remote workshops will take place on Zoom. All are welcome, space is limited. A limited number of need-based scholarships are available. Please email with any questions.
