Noontime Poetry Readings at Poets House

Take a lunch break with a poet this week with Poets House Presents. This free series of ten-minute readings by poets is livestreamed by Poets House on Twitter and posted on our ArchiveFacebook and Youtube on Wednesdays and Fridays at noon.

This coming week, we welcome you to join us on:

  • Wednesday, April 15, when Iranian poet Garous Abdolmalekian reads poems from his new book, Lean Against This Late Hour, with poet and translator Idra Novey and translator Ahmad Nadalizadeh; and
  • Friday, April 17, when Timothy Liu reads poems from his recent book Let It Ride (Saturnaria Books, 2019) in Woodstock, NY.

We also invite you to watch and listen along with the following poets whose readings are now part of our livestream archive:

Cynthia Cruz reads poems from her sixth collection, Guidebooks for the Dead (Four Way Books, 2020), in Greenpoint, NY.

In Tucson, AZ, Arab-American genderqueer trans poet Andrea Abi-Karam reads from EXTRATRANSMISSION (Kelsey Street Press, 2019), a poetry collection that critiques the U.S. military’s role in the war on terror.

From her home in rural Connecticut, painter and poet Desirée Alvarez reads from her book Raft of Flame (Omnidawn, 2020), featuring poems that travel between 1519 and the present.
