Lawrence Joseph, "Once Again"


Lawrence Joseph was born in 1948 in Detroit, Michigan, as the grandson to Catholic Syrian immigrants. A lawyer as well as a poet, Joseph has written six volumes of poetry, including Shouting at No One (University of Pittsburgh Press, 1983), which received the Agnes Lynch Starrett Prize. Joseph’s accolades include the Guggenheim Fellowship and National Endowment for the Arts Poetry Fellowship. Joseph currently teaches law at St. John’s University School of Law.
