Welcome Poetry Path!

Welcome to the Poetry Path!

The Poetry Path features over 40 poets whose work explores the relationship between people, nature, and the urban landscape. It extends from the north end of Nelson A. Rockefeller Park to Belvedere Plaza and into Teardrop Park. You’ll discover poems on walkways, benches, railings, and banners throughout this part of Battery Park City.

The Poetry Path is the latest community partnership between Poets House and Battery Park City Authority, organizations which have collaborated creatively over many decades to bring people and poetry together.

To find more information visit Poets House at https://poetshouse.org. To find more information about this neighborhood and its free art, music, nature, and recreational programming, visit Battery Park City Authority’s website at https://www.bpca.ny.gov.

As part of the celebration of our 10th anniversary at 10 River Terrace, we’re looking forward to the opening of the Poets House Poetry Path in Battery Park City—an immersive public art installation of poetry running from Rockefeller Park’s north end to the marina at Brookfield Place. This installation includes fragments from poems reaching across time, space, and cultures, featuring 50 poets whose work considers the relationships between people, nature, and the urban landscape.

The Poetry Path is made possible through a partnership with Battery Park City Authority, partners in design and fabrication of the Poetry Path, with additional support from our Outreach Partner, Goldman Sachs. Special thanks to the Arthur F. and Alice E. Adams Foundation for funding the Poetry Path planning process, and to the Marcia Brady Tucker Foundation for supporting Poetry Path educational initiatives for youth and children.
